WR group nears completion of home for veteran
Through a Sears and Kmart Home to Heroes grant totalling $21,838, Rebuilding Together Warner Robins has nearly completed the home of Army veteran Charles Moore and his wife, Valorie. Throughout the past two months, the Sunstede home received numerous repairs, including an add-on room to house a washer and dryer, new siding, carpet, paint and a new door from the kitchen. Friday marked the couple’s 19th wedding anniversary.
Houston County’s Relay for Life next weekend
Houston County’s Relay for Life fund-raiser is scheduled for May 16-17 at the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter in Perry. More than 90 teams have signed up to participate in the event that raises money and awareness of the ongoing battle against cancer.
For up to date information, visit http://events.cancer.org/rflhoustonga.
The cancer society will also be signing up volunteers during relay events for its Cancer Prevention Study-3. The study will enroll a diverse population across the United States to help researchers better understand the lifestyle, environmental and genetic factors that may cause or prevent cancer. The relay site in Houston County is among 119 enrollment sites scheduled this year.
Participants must be between the ages of 30 and 65, never having been diagnosed with cancer and be willing to make a long-term commitment to the study, which involves filling out periodic follow-up surveys.
Individuals who enroll in the study will complete a brief written survey and provide waist measurements and a small blood sample, as well as a baseline survey at home.
To learn more about the study, visit www.cancer.org/cps3, email cpw3@cancer.org or call 1-888-604-5888.

If you love post secret you will love this new part of their website! Sooo Good!
The site is too confusing to effectively use. This site will never serve as the offical community gathering place becuase of its lack of user friendliness. The contributions of the larger companies is good, but also ineffective in the fact that it hasn’t lead to a universal usage of the site.
Not only are there the drawbacks already mentioned — unknown, presumably low pay, requirement to play the worst games that come out — but you have to assume that if another Hot Coffee type of situation occurred under your tenure as THE ESRB tester, you’d be held accountable. Or at least scapegoated.
I think that I might try to apply myself. I do however, wonder a) how much they pay and b) if their preference for parents applying is higher than they’re admitting to. Oh well, let’s see what happens.
ESRB: The new 4 letter word.
