Christian singer rounds out state fair acts

The 30-year-old minister’s son who has won three Dove Awards, including one for his song “Open Up Your Eyes” for the soundtrack of “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” will perform at Sept. 9.
Camp joins an eclectic lineup of artists, including country stars, a teen idol and classic rockers at the state fair, which will be from Sept. 5-14 on the fairgrounds in Hutchinson.
Tickets for all Sprint Grandstand shows go on sale at 8 a.m. Saturday at (800) 362-3247 or www.kansasstatefair.com.
Here is the full grandstand lineup:
• 7:30 p.m. Sept. 6: Gary Allan, with Blake Shelton, $30.
• 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8: Demolition derby, $6 for adults, free for children 12 and younger.
• 7:30 p.m. Sept. 10: FreestyleMX racing, $15 for adults, $5 for children.
• 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11: Puddle of Mudd, $25.
• 7:30 p.m. Sept. 13: Joe Nichols, with Jason Michael Carroll, $25.
Gate admission is included in the ticket price for all the musical concerts except the one featuring “Disney’s High School Musical” star Bleu.
Also on sale Saturday at www.kansasstatefair.com will be 2008 fair season passes for $30 for all 10 days of the fair, a savings of $50 off the regular adult ticket price.
