I’m so excited for the Democrats to win this fucking election so they have some fucking confidence in themselves and can go ahead and try this administration for every damn crime, no matter how small. if cheney spit on the sidewalk in 1982, i hope we nail him. does DC have a three strikes law?sincerely, diggum
This has nothing to do with John Yoo’s academic freedom. The argument for firing Yoo relates not to his academic activities but to his actions while he was at the DOJ. Suppose that he wrote a memo defending the actions of the Nazis (not as defense counsel in a war crimes tribunal but as an advisor to Hitler trying to figure out how to justify genocide under German law). Would you still feel that John Yoo should be allowed to retain his professorship on the grounds of academic freedom? There may be a difference in degrees between him and the hypothetical Nazi lawyer (although not a lot), but I think John Yoo’s memo makes him an accomplice in war crimes.
How about Wednesday afternoon? Is his office in Boalt Hall?[edit] hell, yes on the sign
Hey, I pay and paid for internet and I’m glad that you have the right to say stupid shit I don’t agree with right out here in public. Yoo got a doctoral degree and has to publish his ideas and say them in classes and UC Berkely students and redditors have the right to attack his ideas in public.Yoo busted his ass for his soapbox and is now stuck with standing on it. If you don’t like academic soapboxes, be like me, drop out, and speak your mind without “perfessionl” repercussions. It’s a lot easier our way.
I care… and she is hot… and yes I’d bone her.
What are the ground rules? No cursing? No chain saw noises in background? No screaming heebejeebis? No ‘you fire him or I’ll water board him myself’ threats?
Yoo who?
Hopefully you’ll be able to distinguish the line between FOS and conspiracy to commit war crimes by the time you graduate.
My heart’s just not in it if I can’t have a big sign with a terrible pun using the guy’s name.
