BALTIMORE (Map, News)- Boubacar Coly had 13 points and 11 rebounds and Morgan State held off Coppin State 68-64 Thursday night to earn its first 20-win season in 32 years.
The Bears (20-9, 14-2 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), who clinched the regular season title with their win over Delaware State on March 1, have won 13 of their past 14 games and finished the regular season unbeaten at home. The Eagles (12-20, 7-9) entered the game on an eight-game winning streak, but they could not overcome 14 turnovers to topple the Bears.
Marquise Kately scored 13 points, Rogers Barnes had 12 and Reggie Holmes finished with 11 for Morgan State. Tywain McKee scored 17 points, Robert Pressey and Mike Miller each had 10 for the Eagles.
Morgan State led by 12 late in the second half, but a pair of free throws by McKee with 1:51 left capped a 10-2 run by the Eagles and cut the score to 63-59. Miller converted both of his free throws and Coppin State trailed, 64-61 with 1:01 remaining.
However, Holmes made 4-of-6 free throws in the final 51 seconds to seal the win for Morgan State.
The Bears led the entire first half except for three possessions, and went on 14-4 run in the final 5:51 for a 34-24 lead at the half. Morgan State shot 13-for-25 (52 percent) from the floor in the first half and 25-for-50 in the game.
By winning the conference, the Bears clinched their first appearance in a Division I postseason tournament by qualifying for the National Invitation Tournament.

This is why ‘The Right to Bare Arms’ was such an important part of the constitution. Those pigs would be more careful if they actually had more experience with these situations. They would be more careful if they felt the kids family might exact vengence. If we all had forarms there would be no injustices! Genocide victims, airplane hijacking victims, rape victims and witnesses could all minimize. The way things are in present day america only the Criminals and Authorities firearms. All of us honest, innocent, tax paying citizens are the ones that should have the firearms, espcially in a democracy.

Read further on Wikipedia. “moved by church authorities when March 17 falls during Holy Week; this happened in 1940 when Saint Patrick’s Day was observed on April 3 in order to avoid it coinciding with Palm Sunday, and happened again in 2008, having been observed on 14 March.”

Buried. If the cops (or anyone really) has a gun drawn on you, and you tell them that you have a gun, the only way you can reasonably expect to get out without being shot is if you happen to be in the matrix.

Wow did any of you read the article? Look I know that Police Officers are not popular on Digg but give me a break. “After officers arrived at the mother’s Bedford-Stuyvesant apartment, the teen refused to stop as he approached police with a black object in his hand hidden under his shirt, Browne said.” That pretty much says it all. Or how bout the deceased saying that he had a gun? Or wait how bout his mother confirming what he said? Your gonna have to accept it folks, sometimes the police are right.

Not according to both iCal and Wikipedia. It’s on the 17th, which (ten hours ago, for me) was yesterday.

Yes, those cops are a horrible shot - 2 of every 5 bullets hit. Yes, they shot way more than they needed toYes, they were threatened - he TOLD THEM that he had a gun and TOLD THEM to shoot him. Yes, they were justified in shooting him - he told them he had a gun, flashed a knife at them several times, etcThe issue isn’t the cops, it’s the lack of training and low requirements to pass the training course. People see cops represented on TV and think they can shoot a gun out of a suspect’s hand from 50 yards away. Guess what? They can’t. Guess what? Cops are humans, they get scared, when they get scared, they react, and their reaction to someone walking around saying they have a gun is to shoot before being shot at. All the guy had was a knife and a brush? Too bad, maybe he shouldn’t have told them he had a gun. If this guy had had the common sense to throw his hands in the air when he had a gun pointed at him, he would still be alive. The problem isn’t always the cops, it is often partially the suspect/victim’s fault as well. It’s not the cops’ fault some people are just stupid.

i think the cops made the right move. Dude had an unindentified object under his shirt and when the cops arrived at the scene the dude reminded the cops that he HAS a gun..and this was also confirmed by HIS MOTHER prior to the cops arriving at the scene. Do NYPD’s carry taser guns?
