Hands across the border

around every everywhere girl grab guy world

You’re tired of the same four walls, tired of the commute, tired of the same old same old. Aw, poor baby, we know how you feel. You need a change of scene. With the dollar strong, now might be the time to look south. Here are six great cities within reach

Why we like it This bustling, liberal-minded cultural hub on the Willamette River is blessed with a beautiful natural setting and is easily traversed on foot or the famous MAX light-rail system. It’s a city with a sense of humour, too: Head to the Northwest district and check out Flanders, Kearney, Lovejoy and Quimby streets; if the names sound familiar, it’s because Portland-raised Matt Groening borrowed them for his characters in The Simpsons (Ned, the school bully, the Reverend and the mayor). All in all, Portland is a buzzing, visitor-friendly destination with plenty going on round the clock.
Stay The pet-friendly Hotel deLuxe (729 SW 11th Ave.; hoteldeluxeportland.com) is on the edge of the Pearl, the refurbished warehouse district and the city’s cultural heart. The deLuxe lives up to its name, with a gilded, mirror-lined entrance, vintage chandeliers and a Hollywood-glamour ambience. Doubles from about US$167 a night.

I understand. But in the new third world America, all that matters is power. We’re no longer a democracy with a strong middle class.Downmod away, pansies, but you WILL have to come to grips with it. I didn’t say accept it, I said come to grips with it.Sack up because crying ain’t an option.

This may be what goes on in China all the time, but more subtle. EVERYONE eperienced in the govt is corrupt to some degree, you have to be to survive, and dirty laundry is known by everybody important in gov’t. When a particular person needs to be silenced (or their powerful friends lose power and their enemies are ready to seek their revenge), the “secret” gets outed, everyone else in power distances themselves and acts all surprised, and the once-mighty fall, finding themselves alone.

Wait, so when it comes to taxation, we should tax the rich and give to the poor, but when it comes to determining where all the money is spent, it’s every man for himself? I’m so confused.

There are still people, who carry laptops with unencrypted disks? I think they deserve everything that will happen to them when - not if, when - they lose it, are forced to surrender it to nosy “officials” or are robbed.Personally, I use DriveCrypt PlusPack (securstar.com) for full HDD encryption.

Kill the bank. Say it again and again until it sticks. Tell it again and again until it spreads. Shout it again and again until it happens.Kill the bank.
